James Butler
Executive Director
James is an Executive Director on the Tri-Star Board and serves in a leadership role in the business, with a focus on strategy, business development & M&A, production, and exploration.
James joined Tri-Star in 2008 and has worked on a number of exploration & production projects across various commodities and has led sale and purchase processes in petroleum, coal, and mineral assets in Australia and the US. He is currently responsible for asset and corporate strategy and oversight of organizational execution. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and is certified by the US National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
James and his wife, Chantel, have three children and have been married since 2016 and live in Houston, TX.
