Dr James H Butler Jr (Jim)

Jim is the Managing Director and CEO of Tri-Star, as well as one of its founders. He has been in the oil and gas business since 1976 with experience in many countries, including the United States, Australia, India and China. He is a graduate of the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and maintains his CPA license in Texas. He also has a Masters of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas Austin and is an alumnus of the University of Texas Permian Basin, where he received his Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Geology, and an MBA. Jim completed his Doctorate in Coal Geology from the Queensland University of Technology in 2015.
Jim and his wife Nancy have been happily married since 1982 and they have three children: James, Anne and Catherine.
