Joe Chaney, the Vice President of Land at Tri-Star Group, has extensive experience in business development and as a landman. His background includes significant in-house experience managing offshore, conventional, and unconventional assets as well as early experience as a field landman.
Joe’s career highlights include his role as the Vice President, Business Development and Land at INPEX Americas, Inc., where he started the Land Department that supported the drilling of over 130 horizonal Eagle Ford wells. He also had a very successful career at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where he rose through the ranks ultimately to the role of Land Supervisor. Joe began his in-house career as a Landman for Houston Energy, L.P., where he negotiated and managed a Joint Development Program covering an area of ~500,000 acres in South Louisiana.
Joe is a graduate of Louisiana State University, holding a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
